Our locations

5 locations in Berlin

Kindergarten Alegría (Spanish for joy or happiness) is a day care with facilities at five different locations in Berlin’s Mitte district. Our concept and range of services are virtually the same at all five locations. We focus specifically on multilingualism, physical activity, musical education, and healthy eating.

Kindergarten Alegría is run in accordance with the gestalt pedagogical approach, in which all of our caregivers have completed or are completing their further studies.

Moreover, each facility has its own priorities and merits depending on the specific location. We will gladly give you further details by telephone or in a personal conversation if you would like to visit our day care.

Just stop by any one of our facilities and be amazed!

Berlin Schöneberg
Karl-Schrader-Str. 9

The new Alegría location at Karl-Schrader-Straße 9 is housed in a remarkable building with a long social and educational history. Built at the beginning of the 20th century (around 1909), it stands in a tradition closely linked to the care, education and welfare of children.

Historically, this place has always been part of an environment where child development, education and social responsibility played a central role. This attitude still shapes the building today: spacious rooms, high ceilings, plenty of light and an expansive garden create an environment that provides peace, security and room to flourish.

Biedenkopfer Straße 44

Our youngest and most modern kindergarten is located at Biedenkopfer Straße 44, close to the Borsig factories. Here we accompany up to 76 children from the age of 11 months until they start school. The light-flooded new building with its own garden offers the children plenty of space to play, learn and discover. Thanks to its sheltered location in the inner courtyard of a residential and office complex, the children benefit from a quiet and safe environment, while the proximity to Tegeler See and Tegeler Forst enables exciting experiences in nature. In small groups, the children experience a familiar atmosphere that encourages their creativity and individuality. Our pedagogical concept places particular emphasis on multilingualism, with children being encouraged in German, English and Spanish, allowing them to immerse themselves in the world of languages from an early age.

Anton-Wilhelm-Amo-Straße 7

It all started here. We set up our first day care at Mohrenstrasse. This is where we developed and refined our now tried and tested concept, which in the meantime is being applied at a total of five different locations.

„I know where Mohrenstrasse is. Just where exactly can my kid run around there?“ Well, how about our own garden? Our garden is protected by the adjacent houses. It has sandboxes, an outdoor ball pool, a playhouse, slide, seesaw, swing and enough room to scooter around. Moreover, four groups have direct access to their own individual patios.

Anton-Wilhelm-Amo-Straße 10

The daycare facility at Mohrenstrasse 11 is Alegría Kiga gGmbH’s “baby.” The variety of experiences gained at the other locations helped this facility quickly implement Alegría Kiga gGmbH’s concept.

The four groups are small, which has enabled an atmosphere of proximity and cohesion to develop. The activities include handicrafts and group work primarily. The team is small, but everyone thoroughly enjoys their work and the staff works closely together.

Voßstraße

Kindergarten Alegría at Voßstraße is not far from Potsdamer Platz. Here 45 children between approximately 12 months and preschool age can explore their everyday world. Three different groups – the „Kleine Schmetterlinge“, the „Little Bears“, and „Sollunas“ – enjoy the warm and friendly environment, created by the comfortably large and colorfully designed day care rooms. There is space for the children to romp, relax, be creative and do much, much more.

There is an also an additional room, specifically designed for sports, music and yoga.

We would like to highlight the expansion of Alegría’s language concept. The children in the entry group are cared for by three day care providers in Spanish, English and German
